BuckFifty is operated by Favorably Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy describes how we collect, use, and share your information when you use the BuckFifty app and related services.
We don't sell your personal data. We collect only what we need to run the service — coordinating events with your friends over SMS.
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, phone number, email address (optional), and timezone. Your phone number is used for authentication and for sending and receiving event-related text messages.
Contacts. With your permission, we access your device's contact list to help you add friends ("homies") to BuckFifty. We only store information for contacts you explicitly choose to add — we do not upload your entire address book.
Text messages. BuckFifty coordinates events through SMS. When you or your invitees send text messages to our service, we receive and store those messages. We use artificial intelligence to process message content — for example, to understand RSVPs, extract event details like times and locations, and generate conversational replies.
Event information. We store details about events you create, including the activity, location, time, participants, and any notes you provide.
Automatically collected information. We store a unique user identifier on your device to keep you logged in. We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reports, or device location (GPS). Your timezone is read from your device's clock settings, not from location services.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or marketing.
Between participants. When you create an event, invitees receive your name and event details (activity, time, location) via SMS. When invitees respond, you receive their name and response. Participants in the same event may see each other's names and attendance status.
Service providers. We share data with third-party providers that help us operate BuckFifty:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When your account is deleted, we permanently remove all associated data — including your events, saved contacts, conversation history, and authentication records.
To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email privacy@buckfifty.com.
All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. That said, no system is perfectly secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.
BuckFifty is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@buckfifty.com and we will promptly delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other reasonable means. The date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
